Bulgarian indie developer Rabbit Mountain has launched a new VR thriller series titled Haunted Rooms: Escape VR Game. The free app, available in the iOS App store and Google Play, features escape-the-room style puzzles which take place in a haunted house.
Created in partnership with developer Zariba, the story sees the player wake up in a locked room with no clues as to how they arrived there. The mystery unfolds as the player explores more of the house, in a “sinister” story which the developer says is filled with “sudden scares” and “unexpected twists”.
Haunted Rooms: Escape VR Game is compatible with Google Cardboard and similar head-mounted VR devices, or can be played without a headset using touchscreen controls.
This is only the first Haunted Rooms episode, but Rabbit Mountain says more chapters are planned and hinted that the title could appear on next generation VR devices such as the Google Daydream View, in its press release.
