During a press conference at CES in Las Vegas, HTC announced two new accessories for the Vive VR headset. The first one is called the Vive Tracker, a device we already wrote about, that allows developers to integrate real-world objects in the virtual environment.

The second accessory HTC has announced is called the Deluxe Audio Strap. According to the company’s press release, the new Deluxe Audio Strap features an interior padding and an easy-to-adjust sizing dial that make it comfortable to wear as well as easy to put on and off. But its biggest feature is definitely the integrated on-ear headphones that will hopefully provide a great sound experience, which is quite important when it comes to virtual reality.

The Deluxe Audio Strap is quite an interesting accessory that is able to enhance the VR experience. It takes cues from the Oculus Rift, which ships with integrated audio. When asked why the new Deluxe Audio Strap wasn’t available sooner, along with the launch of the Vive VR headset, a general manager of the company replied that it just wasn’t ready at launch. HTC took its time to make sure that the product is well designed and made before releasing it, the representative said.

The newly announced Deluxe Audio Strap will hit the market sometime in the second quarter of the year. HTC hasn’t revealed how much the device will retail for, but has said that it will announce the price closer to launch.
