Eye tracking could prove beneficial to both VR and AR.

If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on a Microsoft HoloLens in Europe then now is your chance as pre-orders go live.

Microsoft is planning to expand to Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom in November. Pre-orders for the augmented reality headset go live today and shipments are expected to begin next month.

The HoloLens Development Kit is currently available in the US for $3,000 so the pricing across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK will differ based on the fluctuating conversion rate of each region compared to the Dollar.

Here’s the current pricing:

  • Germany, France, and Ireland: 3,299 Euro ($3,633)
  • UK: £2,719 ($3,335)
  • Australia: 4,369 AU dollars ($3,308)
  • New Zealand: 7,829 NZ dollars ($5,527)

Since our January 2015 debut our team has been hard at work empowering developers and organizations to bring the vision of mixed reality to life. It’s been fascinating to see what has been created by our commercial partners and the team remains in awe of the way developers are using HoloLens. Over 80 exclusive mixed reality apps are now available in the Windows Store. Developers are turning floors into lava, creating aquariums in our living rooms, setting off mixed reality fireworks, and creating new ways to improve the quality of life for humanity through the power of holograms. I couldn’t be more proud that Windows is leading the way through the innovation of our partners and customers.

While the HoloLens is still largely targeted at Developers and Business users for now, consumers can have just as much fun with the hardware if they’re willing to stump up the cash. Microsoft is expected to talk more about HoloLens and the software accompanying the device at the Surface event later this month.

Head on over to the Microsoft Store to grab your HoloLens, and be sure to drop us a comment if you order one!
