Resident Evil 7 has been a smash hit ever since it hit store shelves back in January, and its launch on the PlayStation VR headset helped to skyrocket sales past what anyone had initially predicted. Capcom promised to release 3 different DLC packs over the course of the next couple of seasons, and while 2 have already hit the internet for fans to enjoy, it seems the third and final installment is being delayed.

In a statement from the company, Director Koshi Nakanishi and Producer Masachika Kawata noted that the final installment was not up to the standards of the company, and they were devoted to making something as special and comprehensive as the original release. At the end of the statement, Nakanishi also noted that the team had decided to work on yet another piece of DLC for the game, meaning there may be a fourth installment coming out down the line.

Resident Evil 7 is set to be exclusive to Sony’s headset for 12 months, so we’re interested to see if sales are reignited if it launches for Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.
