storm vr

Virtual Reality is a fantastic way to create an immersive environment in which to experience things that otherwise you would probably never be able to. Storm VR, coming soon for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, is a perfect example of this.

Storm VR puts the player right in the middle of a blizzard where you must survive while also attempting to solve a series of mystery puzzles.

The aim of Storm VR is to get inside a hut that you have found yourself stuck outside of within 5 minutes. As you can imagine this is quite the task with the amount of white light being emitted from the surroundings in the blizzard, as well as the impact of the elements and cold around you. Despite the objective sounding relatively simple, there are a few items that you need to obtain that are vital to your survival. Players must find them before their body gets so cold that your limbs cease up and the storm gets worse. It’s a game of endurance to battle through the elements rather than a quick race to the finish line.

You find yourself stuck outside of a small hut, in a severe snow storm. You can see a car, probably yours, stranded nearby, half covered in snow. As you look around for ways to get inside the house, your body gets colder, your limbs freeze up, and the storm intensifies. Your challenge is to find and combine several items lying around the building to gain entry.

Storm VR is developed on Unreal Engine 4 and from what the trailer reveals looks visually stunning. You can check out the full trailer and all the details over at the Steam page for Storm VR. It’s listed as “coming this summer” to the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and we certainly can’t wait to try this one out.
