If you’ve been waiting for a VR title that casts you into a world of mystery and exploration, nDreams studio may have the title for you.

Launching today on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, The Assembly thrusts users into a world much like our own, where technology has advanced to a point where it is almost indistinguishable from magic. The title utilizes a number of realistic events and issues that exist in the present, which helps to thrust users into a narrative that is as compelling as it is realistic.

Available in both VR and non-VR versions, the company is looking to give everyone access to the title through a number of control options. You can also purchase the title for $14.99, and upgrade to the VR version for an additional $5 if you decide to go that route. Giving such a wide range of gameplay options is great for consumers, and allows people to experience the title in a whole new light should they decide to pick up a virtual reality headset down the road.

The company has been working hard to get the visuals of the title as lifelike as possible. Using Unreal Engine 4, they have managed to create environments as stunning as they are realistic. nDreams CEO Patrick O’Luanaigh says:

Over the last year, we have moved The Assembly to Unreal Engine 4 and continued to enhance every aspect of the game, from its graphical fidelity to the scope and scale of its gameplay and narrative.

The team obviously cares about making the title as immersive as possible, which shows in the fact that they have got it ready for almost every major VR platform. While it is launching today for HTC and Oculus Rift, the title will also be available for Sony’s Playstation VR headset once that launches in October. No matter what platform you have, you will likely have the opportunity to try out the title.

The Assembly will also be available to purchase today from Green Man Gaming, Humble Bundle, GamersGate and other popular digital marketplaces.
