BigScreen is a new application that blows open the capability of VR by allowing a user to mirror their entire PC within a virtual reality space. It will allow the bringing together of up to four people in the same space to interact with a desktop computer screen, with anyone in the room able to see what is happening, just as if you were all in the same physical room.
From watching Netflix together, to playing games, BigScreen simulates being in a party together watching one single screen in the same room in virtual reality.
Ditch the 19″ monitor. Everything from playing games to watching videos is better on a big screen. With BigScreen, your Windows desktop shows up on a huge 20-foot screen inside VR.
The company plans to launch BigScreen on the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in April, with the experience being cross-headset compatible, working regardless of what VR hardware you have.
BigScreen is now accepting signups for the upcoming Open Beta, so if you are interested in trying it out, you can sign up here.
