With the release of the Oculus Rift last week and the impending HTC Vive this week, VR content is hotting up with a raft of new games and apps appearing across the platforms. Techland, and its development team Shortbreak Studios, are joining the pack with their release of a brand new VR game for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive called The Collider 2.
The Collider 2 is a space combat title and a sequel to the original from 2014. It is developed using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4 to offer the latest technology and graphics engine VR currently has to offer. The aim of The Collider 2 is for players to control a ship steering to avoid obstacles at high speed to complete the mission of destroying an invading army of aliens and their command ship. You’ll need quick reactions to avoid the obstacles as the title has been designed from the ground up to be optimised for virtual reality. There will be six different star fighters that can be customised and upgraded as well as 54 missions and an endless mode to keep the fun never-ending.
The Collider 2 will launch on Steam on 19th April 2016 but there has been no date mentioned for a release on Oculus Home.
