Oculus have launched a new project to help publicize titles launching on their Oculus Rift product in a bid to not only promote its VR capability, but also encourage developers to bring their games over to the Oculus Rift.
The Developer Showcase will be regularly updated as Oculus will hand-select one game per week that is of worthy mention for their VR platform. Throughout the week, the chosen game will be heavily promoted and updated as part of the Developer Showcase. The spotlight for this week is a tower defense strategy game called Defense Grid 2, which received a new trailer showcasing the VR Edition, which is an enhancement of the title for the benefit of the Oculus Rift.
Updates are tracked over in this Reddit post and include things like new screenshots, AMAs, exclusive giveaways, and more.
Although the Rift is still very young as a gaming platform, moves like this will help developers have more confidence in the company’s ability to get games the attention they deserve, and thus will attract more developers, and gamers too.
