In March, we informed you about the planned launch of a point-and-click adventure game called The Secret of Retropolis on PC. Well, you can now play the noir-inspired game on the Oculus Quest and the Oculus Quest 2 headsets.

Available from the Quest Store for $12.99, The Secret of Retropolis blends classic adventure gameplay mechanics with film noir aesthetics to deliver an immersive experience that has something for fans of adventure gaming and movie buffs alike.

“The Secret of Retropolis is a VR narrative game of a new kind, a blend of classic point-and-click adventure with immersive cinematography,” write its developers. “Embody the witty protagonist of a film noir plot. Meet unforgettable characters. Solve puzzles. Lose yourself in the retro-futuristic atmosphere.”

The game is developed by Peanut Button, a Tel Aviv-based studio run by brothers Asaf and Eyal Geva, and it’s their first full-fledged VR release.

The PC version of the game is rated “very positive” on Steam, and early reviews of the Oculus Quest version are all just as encouraging, with players praising the game’s numerous puzzles, distinct art style, and polished gameplay mechanics.

Because The Secret of Retropolis is a seated experience, even players who have little to no prior experience with VR games should find it accessible and fun. For seasoned VR players, the game can provide a welcome change of pace from more demanding titles, such as Beat Saber or Population: ONE.

To install The Secret of Retropolis on your Oculus Quest 1 or 2 headset, you will need around 2 GB of free storage space. The game can be beaten in an hour, but it will likely take you longer if you explore everything it has to offer.
