Hitman 3 players have a lot to look forward to in 2022. Recently, the game’s developers, IO Interactive, have released a short YouTube video with a new and exciting roadmap of content.

The biggest announcement is that the latest entry in the popular stealth video game franchise will get PC VR support in January 2022. No information about supported headsets has been provided, but the short clip showed one player using the Valve Index and another player using the Oculus Rift S. Both players used motion controllers to perform stealthy and not-so-stealthy takedowns.

Full motion controller support is a huge upgrade from the PSVR version of Hitman 3, which launched in January 2021 and only allowed players to use the limited motion control capabilities of the DualShock 4 gamepad.

The entire World of Assassination trilogy, which Hitman 3 concludes, has reached the milestone of 50 million players, making it the most successful Hitman game of all time.

“I wanted to send a huge thank you to everyone who’s helped make Hitman 3 a success this year,” said Hakan Abrak from IO Interactive. “Through hard work, grid, determination, and sticking to our guns through some rough times, Hitman 3 now stands as the most successful Hitman game of all time.”

The PC version of Hitman 3 is also getting support for ray tracing, an advanced method of graphics rendering that simulates the physical behavior of light. It’s likely, however, that ray tracing support will arrive much later than PC VR support because neither the short clip nor the accompanying blog post mentions a specific month.

Players across all platforms will get to enjoy a new way to play Elusive Targets, called Elusive Target Arcade. The new content will be a permanent addition to the game. Even more updates are supposed to be revealed in spring 2022, and you can expect us to cover it.
