HTC Vive briefly halted and then resumed for unknown reasons

If you were looking to buy a HTC Vive today then you’d have most likely been presented with an out of stock page for U.S orders as the company said it was no longer taking any new orders for the VR headset due to extraordinary demand.

Despite already experiencing its fair share of shipping issues, it seems that today marked the HTC Vive going over the edge as far as logistics go, with customers being presented with an opt-in popup that would notify them when the HTC Vive was back in stock.

“Due to extraordinary demand, we are currently not accepting additional Vive orders. Sign up below to be alerted when orders resume,”

HTC later took to Twitter to confirm that U.S Vive orders have in fact resumed but offered no explanation as to the brief period of the item being out of stock. Naturally one would assume orders would be halted to prevent a situation that has seen the Oculus Rift have all kinds of shipping issues, but such a brief outage you would think wouldn’t be make or break for HTC logistically. It could well be that the out of stock status was an intentional error and the opt-in popup triggered unintentionally.

The Vive, despite high demand, has been relatively good with shipping out the headsets to customers, with the HTC Vive arriving well before the estimated June delivery date. Whatever the reason, all seems good in the world of HTC Vive stock again, so fear not and grab your headset now if you haven’t already before it goes out of stock again.
