The HTC Vive is an expensive unit so you wouldn’t be blamed for wanting to try one out before shelling out $799 on one. Luckily, HTC has announced that the HTC Vive will be coming to select GameStop and Microsoft Stores across North America that will let you demo the VR headset.
HTC says demo units of the HTC Vive are available now in the Microsoft Flagship Store in New York, Microsoft at Bellevue Square in Washington, and Microsoft at City Creek Center in Utah.
The list will continue to grow according to HTC, with demo units rolling out to a total of 30 stores across North America starting with Microsoft’s Meadows Mall location in Colorado later this week. The company didn’t divulge any information about the GameStop locations, but said it would see 10 stores with HTC Vive demo units available by mid-April.
If you’re lucky enough to be close to one of the stores that will house a HTC Vive demo headset, you’ll have a chance to experience SteamVR content supported by an Alienware Area-51 PC. Like what you see? Both Microsoft and GameStop stores will take reservations for June orders if you wish to purchase one.
