Landfall, the VR sci-fi tactical shooter that impressed us several months ago in an early form is now officially launched for owners of the PC-based Oculus Rift headset. The game is available to purchase and download now from the Oculus Store for $29.99.
The game, from developer Force Field, is set in a near-future world where armies fight each other to control a limited amount of resources. The game most resembles a PC real-time strategy title, as you command your forces and military units to fight the enemy in a top-down perspective. The game does switch to a first-person viewpoint when you decide to go down to the battlefield itself to control a vehicle.
Landfall features both a single player campaign which can also support a friend if you want to fight in two-player co-op mode. There are also 1v1 and 2v2 online multiplayer modes that are available. Keep in mind that this game does not support the recently released Oculus Touch controllers; it’s been made for more conventional twin-stick console controllers like the one made for the Xbox One. It’s also a pretty large download at 10.21GB.
What do you think of Landfall finally coming out for the Oculus Rift, and will you be getting this game even at its fairly high (for a VR game) price of $29.99? Let us know your first-hand impressions in the comments!
