It will take some time before live concerts will properly resume. While some tour promoters have already given up, others are actively exploring the potential of modern technology to unite music fans with their favorite artists without putting anyone at risk.

The organizers of Australia’s Splendour in the Grass festival definitely belong in the latter category because they’re creating an innovative, virtual recreation of their festival, calling it Splendour XR.

Splendour XR will happen on July 24 and 25 on the Sansar platform, and it will be available on any device through gaming PC, mobile, web browser, and, above all else, VR.

“Just like Splendour in the Grass IRL, across the 2-day event, you can stroll through the festival site and explore the XR world along the way,” write the festival’s organizers on its official website. “Or you can teleport your way from stage to stage to watch your favorite artists as they’re beamed into virtual space.”

Here’s a list of all the artists that you can look forward to virtually meeting if you decide to visit Splendour XR:

  • Saturday: Khalid, Chvrches, Denzel Curry, Duke Dumont, Tash Sultana, Masked Wolf, Russ Millions, Band Of Horses, Little Simz, Violent Soho, Aurora, Phoebe Bridgers, Vera Blue, Pink Sweat$, Client Liaison, Griff, Pond, Tayla Parx, Dune Rats, Methyl Ethel, The Chats, Triple One, Cat & Calmell, King Stingray, The Southern River Band
