Resolution Games, the developers of hit VR games such as Demeo, Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale, and Blaston, have just announced their next big title for 2022, Ultimechs.
The teaser trailer accompanying the announcement gives us an early look at what the game is all about: fast-paced, robot-on-robot VR sports matches. As the game’s title suggests, you play as a purpose-built mech, and your advanced electro-mechanical body has a profound effect on the gameplay.
“With Ultimechs, we have created an entirely new gameplay mechanic that could only exist in the immersive world of VR,” said Tommy Palm, CEO of Resolution Games. “Sure anyone can kick a ball into a net, but only in the world of Ultimechs can you and your mech punch it in by firing a rocket fist and controlling the trajectory as you follow along its path.”
Resolution Games is already a respected name thanks to the success of its earlier future sports game, Blaston. The studio is determined to continue to grow its catalog distinct, original multiplayer experiences, and Ultimechs seems to have hit all the right marks based on early comments on social media sites.
The game is planned to release in 2022 across leading VR platforms, including Oculus Quest 2. If high-octane sports matches between purpose-built machines sounds like something that’s right up your alley, then stay tuned for updates because we will definitely let you know when the game becomes available.
Founded in 2015, Resolution Games is privately held and based in Stockholm, Sweden. Besides the already mentioned titles, the studio’s world-class catalog of video games also includes Bait!, Attack of the Squirrels!, and Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs.
