Rigs Mechanized Combat League for PSVR adding new mechs and more in December

PlayStation VR gamers who are also fans of the mech-based shooter Rigs Mechanized Combat League will have some new content to look forward to in December. Developer Guerrilla Games will release a free update with new features and improvements to the game.

In a PlayStation blog post, Jeroen Roding of Guerrilla Games said the free update will add the APX Rigs mechs to the game. They will be faster than the average mechs that are already in the game but won’t be as heavily armored, so in theory the gameplay balance should be maintained.

In addition, the update will include the first Arena for Rigs based in Europe. The new Zurich location will feature what the developer is calling “a clear overview for the Tempest class and plenty of tunnels for the Hunter class”. The new arena will be shown first on December 3 as part of the PlayStation Experience event at the Anaheim (California) Convention Center.

Guerrilla Games also plans to offer new weekly trials for Rigs players, which will offer in-game credits, fame, and exclusive customization items for their successful completion. Finally, even more customization items and victory celebrations will be available to purchase via the in-game store in the near future.
