‘Robo Recall’ launches onto Oculus Rift today

Back at Oculus Connect 3 in San Jose, we checked out a variety of new games that would making their way to the Oculus Rift later in 2017. As we get ready to close out the first quarter of the new year, many of these titles are finally beginning to show up on the headset, one of which quickly became a favorite of ours at the conference. I’m talking about Robo Recall.

The game was created by legendary developer Epic Games, who are most notably famous for their work on the incredible Unreal Engine as well as the beautiful MOBA-style title Paragon. The title throws you into a futuristic society inhabited by assistive robots who have opted to wreck havoc on humanity, and it is your job to stop them. There are a lot of unique elements to the game that work incredibly with the Oculus Touch controllers, such as ripping off various extremities of the robots and using them against your enemies.

Slow motion is also used heavily in this title, allowing you to catch bullets and toss them back at your enemies in explosive bursts of light. The game looks absolutely amazing with the company’s own engine, and we have been eagerly awaiting its launch ever since October.

Oculus took to a blog post to announce a huge Rift + Touch price cut this morning, where it also announced that Robo Recall is launching today as well. The game is exclusive to the Oculus Rift headset, and now comes absolutely free with the purchase of the Oculus Touch controller. This is a pretty incredible deal, as the combo of devices is cut by $200 alone, and when you consider the quality of a title you are getting absolutely free, it’s hard to not feel tempted to pick up the set.

You can check out our hands on with Robo Recall from Oculus Connect 3 here, but be sure to stay tuned for our full review once GDC and MWC are finally settled down.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
