Back at E3 2016 in June, we took a look at a new title coming to VR platforms everywhere: Star Trek: Bridge Crew. We were delighted by the interactivity of the game-play, and as Star Trek fans ourselves, we were more than excited for the franchise to get such a high quality game on all the major virtual reality platforms. Unfortunately, due to some issues with development, the team has been delayed to March 14th, 2017.
While this is sad news for fans of Star Trek around the world, the team has said that the delay is due to them wanted to offer as compelling and engaging an experience as possible. This is definitely reasonable, and I think we can all agree that a more polished game released later is much better than an unfinished game released earlier. Though early access is often an option for many games, the title is set to be available for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR as well. Since the title is releasing on Sony’s new HMD, it will need to be completely finished before release.
If you’re upset by this, just remember: Half-Life 3 is probably going to be amazing.
