USA’s Mr. Robot gets an exclusive VR short during San Diego Comic-Con

If you’ve seen Mr. Robot, you know it’s filled with hidden messages, backstories, and a multitude of other intricacies that may be hard for the casual viewer to intercept. The second season aired just recently, and while it has provided just as great an experience as the first season, USA have decided to partner with Within to create an experience which will help users to better understand Eliot’s backstory. The experience is written and produced by series creator Sam Esmail, which means the story will be 100% accurate to the main show.

The experience will be live cast nationwide at 1:30pm eastern time on July 21st, which is right around when San Diego Comic-Con is set to get under way. While there will only be one opportunity to watch the feature live, you’ll be able to check it out via a multitude different methods afterwards. In addition, if you are attending San Diego Comic-Con you will be able to view the experience throughout the course of the event, ending on the 24th.

You can view the short through almost every major headset using the Within app on Google Cardboard, Samsung’s Gear VR store, Steam, and the Oculus store. While it might seem pointless to take time off and view the experience live, it should be a very cool experience for fans of the show to watch together. There will undoubtedly be an explosion of discussion via Twitter and other social networks, so if you were hoping to get through the experience spoiler-free, you might want to steer clear of the media for a bit.

Are you a fan of the show? Looking forward to the VR experience? I’ll likely be taking some time off to view it myself.

Let us know how you like it!

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
