Resolution Games released its turn-based RPG VR game, Demeo, in May 2021 to critical acclaim. Recently, the game was crowned 2021’s Game of the Year at the fifth annual VR Awards.
But despite all the praise and success, Demeo is far from reaching its final form. In fact, Resolution Games have just unveiled a roadmap for the end of this year and the entire year 2022, and there’s a lot to look forward to, starting the third adventure in Demeo’s growing fantasy universe, Roots of Evil.
The Roots of Evil adventure revolves around a being of absolute evil, which has been captured by a commune of druids in the Drych Forest. Your job is to leave the dungeons and head onto the surface world to help liberate the forest and all those who live in it.
In February 2022, players will be able to enjoy some well-deserved rest from adventuring thanks to the Player’s Hangout update, which will add a whole new environment to chill, socialize, and play mini-games, among other things.
Two months later, in April, Demeo players will finally be able to invite all friends who have yet to fall in love with virtual reality gaming because a traditional PC version of the game will launch on Steam.
“Since Demeo launched, we have more than doubled the size of the team dedicated to its ongoing development,” said Tommy Palm, CEO and founder of Resolution Games. “The reception from players has been incredible—and with the PC Edition, we’re looking forward to bringing an authentic tabletop experience to even more players.”
Demeo: PC Edition will include a native PC experience, all of the adventures released to date, and cross-play functionality. It will launch in Early Access on April 7, but you can wishlist it starting today.
As if all this wasn’t enough, there will also be a new player-versus-player mode and two more adventures released later in 2022.
“With Demeo, we set out to make a game that rekindles that feeling of gathering around a table with friends to fight monsters and find gold,” added Palm. “As we head into 2022, we recognize how beloved Demeo is and have made our most ambitious plans yet as a studio.”
