Last year in December, we informed you about Resolution Games’ exciting roadmap for its turn-based RPG VR game, Demeo.

The first item on the roadmap, the third adventure in Demeo’s growing fantasy universe, Roots of Evil, was released on December 16, and we’re now approaching the release of another content update, called Heroes’ Hangout.

The upcoming update, set to launch for free on February 24, will introduce an all-new social hub for adventurers, giving them a cozy place where they can socialize, play mini games, and more.

As part of Steam Next Fest, a multi-day celebration of upcoming games taking place from February 21 to February 28, Resolution Games have released a playable demo of Demeo: PC Edition, letting players go hands-on for the first time ahead of the April 7 Early Access launch.

Demeo – PC version

We had an early chance to play the demo ahead of its official launch, and we were pleasantly surprised by how well the game works as a PC title.

Resolution Games has clearly rebuilt it from the group up to give PC games the most polished and optimized experienced possible, while still retaining the option for PC players to play with both the Oculus Quest and SteamVR players.

The game’s graphics, whose art style reminds us of World of Warcraft, look just as good on a 2D screen as they do in virtual reality, and they go a long way in creating the right kind of atmosphere for a fantasy tabletop game.

If you’ve never played any similar game before, then you should know that Demeo doesn’t have an impossibly steep learning curve. Even inexperienced players can learn how all core gameplay mechanics work without much effort, making it easy to form a party with friends and strangers alike.

Stay tuned for more Demeo updates as we follow its extensive content roadmap.
