Following the announcement of a new generation of PSVR for its PlayStation 5 video game console, Sony has just revealed six VR titles that are set to release later this year.
Last month, Sony announced its next-generation VR system, promising dramatic leaps in performance and interactivity to enable the ultimate entertainment experience. While the new VR system won’t launch in 2021, at least six VR games will, so there will be a lot of content to enjoy it finally becomes available.
Perhaps the most noteworthy of them is Doom 3 VR, which will launch on March 29th for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This reboot of the 2004 horror FPS is designed from the ground up for the gun-like Aim accessory, and it brings to the table updated graphics and improved gameplay elements.
Vertigo Games, the developers of highly successful VR shooter Arizona Sunshine will bring to PSVR its new multiplayer VR action FPS game, After the Fall, which is set in the ice-covered ruins of 1980s LA. In the game, players will have to cooperate to survive in a hostile world filled with hordes of undead monsters.
All PSVR players who have enjoyed solving intricate puzzles in I Expect You To Die can look forward to its sequel, called simply I Expect You To Die 2. Instead of reinventing the wheel, the sequel will offer more of the same spy-themed puzzles that have made the original game so popular.
The second half of the announced games isn’t as exciting as the first one, but having more VR games to choose from is always a good thing. Fracked lets players experience fast arena action with climbing and zip-lining. Zenith is an MMORPG set in a world where technology and magic are two sides of the same coin. Finally, Song in the Smoke is a survival game that revolves around resource gathering, crafting, and exploration.
